Sunday, May 31 - Seward

After breakfast we did the "touristy" thing and went sightseeing and shopping.  Downtown Seward has quaint shops with lots of interesting merchandise.  We also went to the harbor where we saw a Holland American cruise ship docked.  Rachel was hoping that was the the boat we would go out on tomorrow - she was disappointed when I told her it would be much smaller.

Our next stop was Exit Glacier - Rachel and I walked the half-mile trail which was somewhat spooky!  At the entrance to the trail we read a warning sign on what to do if you encountered bears or moose.  Did you know if you run into a black bear your are to fight, a brown bear you play dead and a moose you hide behind something bigger than you?  The sad thing is there were not many trees wide enough to hide behind.  The glacier was spectacular to see!

The Sea Life Center in Seward was the last planned stop for the day.  We were able to see puffins up close and Skittle the orphaned sea otter stole our hearts.
