Our 120 mile cruise departed from the Port of Seward and traveled through Resurrection Bay, passing by Caines Head, Bear Glacier and the Harding Gateway. We traveled through a small section of the Gulf of Alaska as we rounded Cape Aialik and entered Aialik Bay and the Kenai Fjords National Park. In Aialik Bay we visited Holegate Glacier where we saw the ice break off into the water (called calving). We also passed through the Chiswell Islands. On our trip we saw mountain goats, harbor seals, puffins, hump back whales, orca whales, sea gulls, bald eagles and a black bear.We feasted on a bountiful buffet of Alaskan salmon and prime rib served with all the fixings. An all you can eat dessert buffet followed dinner.
